AlDente is designed to help users maximize battery life by preventing it from fully charging. This helps the battery stay in good condition for longer, something that’s difficult to achieve manually. Given the difficulty and cost of replacing Apple device batteries, it’s understandable that users strive to make their batteries last as long as possible.
Key Features:
Charge Limiter: AlDente lets you limit your MacBook’s charge level after a certain percentage. This not only reduces battery drain but also extends its lifespan.
Discharge: This feature allows your MacBook to operate entirely on battery power even when plugged in. This allows you to discharge your MacBook to the optimal level in a controlled manner.
Thermal Protection: Charging when the battery is hot accelerates its degradation. When thermal protection is activated, charging will automatically stop when the battery temperature rises significantly.
Calibration Mode: Keeping the battery at a low percentage between 20% and 70% for weeks without performing full charge cycles can lead to inaccurate calibration. To avoid this, simply perform a full charge cycle at least once a month. When Calibration Mode is enabled, AlDente will automatically perform a full charge cycle (from 15% to 100%).
Mobility Mode: Even with the charge limiter enabled, your MacBook battery will gradually charge and discharge to maintain the desired charge level. With Mobility Mode, you can define a charging range to protect the battery. For example, when Mobility Mode is set between 75% and 80%, AlDente will automatically allow the battery to gradually decrease to 75% after charging to 80%. Once it reaches 75%, it will recharge to 80%.
