Information
Introduction
Capture One is a professional image processing software designed by the world’s most rigorous photographers, supporting over 500 cameras from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Phase One, and more. As a powerful digital photo RAW format converter, this software can not only convert files to full-size TIFF (RGB/CMYK) and JPG formats in real-time in separate and batch modes, but also adjust white balance, effectively handle overexposed and underexposed photos, fine-tune photo clarity and remove color noise. Capture One allows for multiple versions of the same image to be corrected, with its workspace divided into zones, each corresponding to a way of processing the original digital negative. White balance settings are achieved through adjusters for color temperature and hue, and you can also choose from the traditional scene program for many cameras, or use the eyedropper to specify a neutral gray point on the photo for white balance adjustment.

Function
AI masking
Easily mask your images with three different AI masking methods:
Subject and background masks
Capture One can automatically detect and mask the subject or background in an image, creating a new level of masking with high-quality edge refinement.
Subject and background masks can be included in styles, allowing an easy way to mask and apply adjustments in a single operation, which can be applied to multiple images at once.
The performance of this masking method is expected to be 5-10 seconds per image.
AI Selection – Click
A new AI selection cursor tool has been added, allowing for easy masking of specific objects or areas in images. When hovering with AI selection, a preview of the expected masking area is displayed. This makes it simple to click on the right object. AI selection is automatically added to the selected layer, or if there is no layer, a new layer is created. AI selections are additive, so each new click is added to an existing layer.
To guarantee smooth performance, Capture One needs to prepare an AI model for each image, which takes a few seconds. To guarantee high-quality masking for smaller objects, the preparation will be run again when zoomed in.
Expect AI mask preparation time of 3-6 seconds for first use and zoom-in.
AI Selection – Rectangle
To easily mask complex objects in one go using the AI selection cursor, drag a rectangle to cover the object you want to mask. A preview is displayed as you drag, providing visual feedback on how the mask will look expected.
Just like clicking, masking with a rectangle is additive, and the mask can be easily built by combining clicks and dragging rectangles.
AI Eraser
Easily remove masks from objects with AI Eraser. AI Eraser supports both clicks and rectangles, making it simple to remove masks from any desired object. The preview of the erased mask is the complementary color of the mask coverage.
Holding down the Alt/Option key will temporarily switch to AI Selection and AI Eraser.
ReTether
The new ReTether feature provides a flexible way to get many wired benefits such as hands-free import and next capture naming, but without the need to plug in Capture One at the time of capture.
The feature is on by default, but can be disabled from the preferences if needed.
ReTether is currently available for Canon and Nikon via USB.
Eye focus of the focus tool
Now, the focus tool is powered by AI and can automatically detect the face to focus on, with three modes of auto-positioning:
- Eye Centering: Centering the nearest eye
- Centering the face: Centering the middle of the face
- None: Maintains the position of the previous image
The default zoom level is 100%, but it can be changed manually and will remain after Capture One restarts.
Suitable for wired and manual browsing/filtering in the browser.
If Capture One detects multiple faces in an image, it will select the largest face, assuming it is closer.
Capture One Live: Share multiple collections (sessions only)
Multiple collections can now be shared at the same time, allowing your collaborators and reviewers to navigate folders through a single link.
You can share:
- All session collections at once
- All the sessions at once
From the collaborator’s point of view, a new navigation system has been added to the left side of the web page. You can expand or collapse it by clicking the button at the top of the panel.
Capture One Live: In-App Review
New tools can be added to your workspace: Comments.
This tool will reflect the comments left by yourself and/or your collaborators on each image. With this tool, you can (finally) read, write, and delete your comments directly from Capture One Pro.
Publishing to Glass (Mac)
You can now publish your image directly to Glass by right-clicking and selecting the “Publish” option, or by clicking the small arrow next to the export button in the main toolbar.
Glass is a global, paid photography community and photo-sharing platform that helps photographers experiment, get inspired, and grow. With no ads or algorithms, your photos look their best. Membership required.
